Cafo at Haslington Craft and Gift Fairs – 11th Sep 21

Cafo (Cheshire animal fundraising organisation) were the chosen featured charity today (11th September 2021), along with Chance Changing Lives at Yoxall Village Hall, Haslington for the monthly charity gift and craft fair.
Cafo raised £474.18 in total!!

Cafo are currently raising money to help to pay a large vet bill for a cat called Acer who suffered a broken pelvis in a road accident and promoting the cat home microchipping service where you can microchip your cat in the comfort of your own home, which is less stressful for the cat. The non-profit organisation of Cafo was set up in early 2021 to help local animal rescues such as Emergency Cat Hotel, Helping Winsford Paws and Ollie & Friends Cat Rescue with their animal medical bills, scanning strays and fundraising.

To see details of the cats recently rescued and helped by Cafo, or if you can give a cat a loving forever home, make a donation or can offer assistance in any way, go to the Cafo Facebook Page

Sonnet Radio went to the fair to hear the latest updates on the work the charities are doing and spoke to April Lysons and Gina O’Neill on the Cafo stall. They had a raffle, handmade gifts for all occasions, cakes and fudge baked and donated to eat in the refreshment room with tea and coffee, or to take home. We sampled some of the cakes (well, it would have been rude not to!), and they were definitely 10/10!

Chance Changing Lives were there to raise money for their community food pantry and the cooked meal service they provide to local people who are homeless or in need of hot food. Jars of preserves and chutneys were available at the fair today.

Hamper Happie stall had an array of colourful personalised gifts and gift hampers – Cassandra, the owner donates some of the proceeds to Chance Changing Lives as well as fundraising in general for them.

The other stalls were selling handbags, hand sewn items, handcrafted wooden pens and clocks, artwork, silver jewellery, crocheted gifts, candles, cards, books, resin keyrings, macrame hangers, silk flowers, decoupage coasters, toiletries, Halloween, and Christmas gifts, and personalised made to order gifts.

The monthly fairs were set up by Annette Basford who, along with other businesses wants to help local charities. The next craft fair will be on Saturday 23rd October – for more information, contact annettebasford@gmail.com
The next Cafo fair will be the “Christmas Fair Santa Claws” at St Barnabas, West Street, Crewe, 12-4pm on Saturday 20th November 2021 if you can donate anything for prizes, Christmas decorations, toys, and gifts.
